A two-day National Workshop Series on Quantum Accelerated Computing and Cloud Computing brought together technology enthusiasts, researchers, and industry professionals to explore the exciting possibilities at the intersection of these cutting-edge fields. Organized with the support of CDAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing), the event aimed to shed light on how quantum computing and cloud computing are transforming industries and driving innovation. The workshop offered a platform to understand, discuss, and experiment with technologies shaping the future of computing.
The first day focused on Quantum Accelerated Computing, with sessions sponsored by CDAC. Participants learned about the fundamentals of quantum computing, its real-world applications, and the immense potential it holds for solving complex problems faster than traditional computers. The second day delved into Cloud Computing and Hyper-Converged Infrastructure, discussing how cloud technologies empower businesses with scalable resources and seamless data management. The day also highlighted the role of hyper-converged systems in unifying storage, computing, and networking to deliver robust and cost-effective solutions. Attendees gained hands-on experience, interacted with experts, and explored collaborative opportunities in these transformative technologies.
The workshop on "Introduction to Quantum Computing: Concepts and Capabilities" offers an immersive exploration into the transformative world of quantum computing, tailored for technology enthusiasts and computer scientists. The sessions are designed to introduce the fundamental concepts of quantum mechanics that underpin quantum computing, such as superposition, entanglement, and the representation of qubit states through the Bloch sphere. Attendees will gain insights into the quantum programming landscape, with hands-on exercises using IBM's Qiskit framework, guiding them through the installation of tools like Anaconda and crafting quantum algorithms in Python. This foundational knowledge bridges theoretical quantum mechanics and practical quantum programming, enabling participants to understand and implement quantum circuits effectively.
The workshop also delves into advanced topics such as Quantum Error Correction (QEC) and the implementation of quantum gates. Participants will learn how QEC preserves fragile quantum states, addressing challenges posed by decoherence and noise, and explore the practical application of quantum gates like the Hadamard, Pauli, and CNOT gates in creating robust quantum algorithms. The sessions will highlight the interplay between classical and quantum computing, discussing the opportunities for integrating quantum systems with existing infrastructures and their potential to address complex computational problems. By the end of the workshop, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to embark on their journey into the exciting realm of quantum computing, understanding both its theoretical foundations and practical applications.
